“How good does HOMMBRU sound?”

We want to answer this question by inviting “Die Prinzen” to give a concert using HOMMBRU speakers. We developed our sound elements to meet the requirements of a concert.

16 white panels decorated the ceiling of our production hall, which turned into a concert hall for this event. The starting point was our product area. We developed particularly powerful sound elements in a size of 1.50m x 80cm, which we additionally refined with light at the lower edge. “Die Prinzen”, the audience and we enjoyed the finest HOMMBRU concert sound. So it’s clear: HOMMBRU officially stands up to concert requirements in terms of volume and sound quality.

By the way… The back-up system demanded by tha band remained true to its inscription “Today out of service”.

The Sleep + Eat event in London is a renowned hotel event for hoteliers, restaurateurs and designers. Here the heads behind Europe’s leading hotel projects meet for networking and inspiration.

Since acoustics are also becoming increasingly important in the hotel sector, we were invited as HOMMBRU by Yasmine Mahmoudieh. Thus we integrated invisible sound into the hotel room of the future.

Yasmine Mahmoudieh

The versatile architect, interior designer and entrepreneur Yasmine Mahmoudieh has successfully designed everything from the interior of the Airbus A380 to the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. After designing a sleeping set for the Sleep + Eat event in 2013, she was delighted to receive another invitation. In 2018 she presented the hotel room of the future.

The hotel room of the future

Inspired by literary themes such as happiness, love and wisdom that transcend space and time, the Sleep Set tells a story.

Digital Detox

There should be no visible technology in the centre of the room – so-called “digital detox”.

The room rather played on the senses with influences of sound, scent and light. Inspired by “Elizabeth and Her German Garden”, a novel by Elizabeth von Arnim, the natural bathroom had structural tiles from Mosa. The shower experience includes chirping birdsongs and is completed by a relaxed lighting atmosphere.

And where did the sound come from?

Our invisible loudspeakers “Area” were integrated into the wall.
After the overpainting and the wallpaper there is no more visible technology – fitting to the goal of Yasmine Mahmoudieh of the “Digital Detox”.

Invisible loudspeakers integrated into the rear wall of a kitchen – this is also possible with HOMMBRU.
The sound elements fill the open kitchen with 180 degree radiation and let it ring out with your favourite music. In order not to interfere with the interior with dark materials, the surface is veneered with wood. Thus no black loudspeaker boxes destroy the harmonious overall picture.
Also optimal for hygienic reasons, because HOMMBRU has no holes in the surface, it can be easily cleaned. Food remains in grids of conventional loudspeakers are thus history.
The Hommel manufactory was responsible for the interior design, manufacture and installation of the kitchen including loudspeakers.

A house of the City-Marina Cuxhaven extends over four floors.

HOMMBRU enriches the show house with additional sound elements from the hallway to the bedroom. The loudspeakers are invisibly integrated into the surroundings and fill them with music. The product area was manufactured at different places in most different executions. In most cases they were integrated as cabinet fronts as drawers or cabinet doors.
The in-house multimedia system supplies each element with music. So it is possible to hear the same thing in every room or to sound each room individually – and nowhere do conventional loudspeakers disturb the overall impression of the room.

The colour and material concept of the show house is inspired by its location in the immediate vicinity of the North Sea. The planning and implementation of the interior work was completely carried out by the Hommel manufactory. The built-in furniture is provided with many small practical details and fits perfectly into the special architecture of the City-Marina terraced houses.

In a conference room near Zwickau Area is used as a beamer screen. It measures 2m x 1.5m, is made of white solid surface material and produces sound.
Thus it is projection screen and invisible loudspeaker in one.
It is controlled by standard AUX plugs.

So after long conferences nothing stands in the way of the evening cinema enjoyment…

The project was realized in 2016.

HOMMBRU’s invisible loudspeakers are integrated into the bathroom of a villa on the lake in Leipzig. Here the product area can be found as a drawer front in the washstand. But music should not be missing when bathing either, so that an individual wall panel produces sound in the back wall of the bathtub.

Thanks to the waterproof mineral material and the technology of HOMMBRU, invisible loudspeakers are no problem even in wet areas. The reason for this is that no wholes are necessary.

This makes it possible to integrate invisible loudspeakers according to your wishes, even in wet areas.
Have fun relaxing with your favourite music!
